Need Encouragement?

We've got you covered.

“Thus Joseph, who was also called by the apostles Barnabas (which means son of encouragement), a Levite, a native of Cyprus, sold a field that belonged to him and brought the money and laid it at the apostles’ feet.” – Acts 4:36-37

The Barnabas Program gets it’s name from Barnabas in the book of Acts.  The adults of St. Nicholas sign up for a school year to act as a ‘Barnabas’ for our college aged students.  For an entire year, each ‘Barnabas’ anonymously prays for and sends emails, letters, and care packages to their student.

The student, who may be enrolled in school or not, then knows that someone at St. Nicholas is praying for them and ready to listen as life presents challenges.  Maybe they figure out who their personal ‘Barnabas’ is before the May unveiling, maybe they don’t.  But either way, they know they have someone in their corner and mail in their P.O. Box.  And that’s a good thing.

To sign up to be a Barnabas, just email us (please use button below) to let us know you are interested.
